14. Who are PetRescue’s members?
What last year's report found
In the 2025 calendar year, 589 member organisations actively listed pets, 51 new organisations joined, and 37 were suspended.
What happened this year
At the time of the snapshot, PetRescue had 726 active member organisations, including 61 that joined during 2025–26. Of these 726, 190 did not list a single pet during the year.
This is a different count from the 568 organisations in Section 4. That figure counts every organisation that listed at least one animal during 2025–26, including some that have since been suspended or closed.
156 member organisations were suspended during 2025–26. This is higher than in previous years, but it reflects a deliberate review of inactive accounts in the first half of 2026, not a rise in organisations breaking platform rules.
