About Tekapo 💙
🐾 Meet Tekapo the very gentle little boy
Tekapo’s story began in a hot roof, where he, his siblings, and their loving mum were found when he was only a few days old. Brought into care at such a young age, Tekapo grew up surrounded by people, making him wonderfully friendly, sweet, and trusting.
Tekapo is a quiet achiever. He loves to observe, investigate, and assess the world, usually after his braver siblings try things first! This thoughtful little boy has a gentle nature that shines through in everything he does. When playtime winds down, he happily seeks out his human carer’s lap for a warm and cosy snuggle.
One of Tekapo’s cutest features is the unique pattern on his belly, which he proudly shows off while rolling around with his toys. If belly spots were a contest, he’d win gold!
Tekapo is currently in care with his siblings Haka, Otago, Wanaka, and their mum Amberley. He’s also become great friends with Milford and Moana. Because of his social upbringing and young age, Tekapo must go to a home with a resident cat—or be adopted alongside one of his foster friends or siblings (all also up for adoption).
Tekapo lives in a foster home with two resident dogs. While he still finds them a little bit scary, he’s young, adaptable, and learning quickly. A gentle, cat-friendly dog would be perfectly fine for him as he continues to gain confidence.
He uses the litter tray perfectly, often turning it into a quick play zone before doing his business, and he eats like an absolute champ.
Tekapo would love nothing more than to find a soft, warm home where he can grow, explore, and feel safe and loved.

Adoption details
Please email us at adoptions@heartandsoulrescue.com.au if you are interested in adopting one of our precious souls, and we will email you our Adoption Application Form.
Once we have received your completed form, we will then contact you to discuss suitability. If we feel one of our cats or kittens will be suited to you, we will arrange a home visit or ask for a short walk-through video of your home.
If all goes well, we will give you a *trial period of 2 weeks to see if our cat or kitten is the right one for you 💕 *Conditions apply - We reserve the right to reject a full refund if recommendations & requests regarding your new cat/kitten have not been adhered to. (A 25% admin fee will apply)
