About Otago 💙
🐾 Meet Otago, the most perfect all-rounder cat!
Otago’s life began in a hot roof, where he, his siblings, and their mum were found when he was only a few days old. Brought into care at such a young age, Otago grew up surrounded by people and has become wonderfully friendly, confident, and social.
His favourite pastime? Zooming up and down the hallways with excited chatters, convincing every other cat in sight to join the fun. When he’s feeling extra silly, he’s known for his impressive little “body slams” during play! And once all that energy burns off, Otago happily curls up on his carer’s lap for a well-earned snuggle.
Otago is currently in care with his siblings Haka, Tekapo, Wanaka, and their lovely mum Amberley. He’s also become best mates with Milford and Moana, the other cats in care. Because of his upbringing and strong social nature, Otago must go to a home with a resident cat or be adopted with one of his foster siblings or friends (all also looking for forever homes).
This brave boy lives in a foster home with two resident dogs and a young pup. He isn’t too bothered by them and will often playfully bat at their tails. A calm, cat-friendly dog would be perfectly welcome in Otago’s future home. He also enjoys showing off his sass from the safety of the window, just to keep the pups on their toes!
Otago uses the litter tray perfectly, sometimes even announcing his intentions beforehand and occasionally turning the tray into a mini playground first. He also eats like a true champ.
Otago would love nothing more than a forever family where he can race down hallways, play to his heart’s content, and then snuggle up when he’s all zonked out.

Adoption details
Please email us at adoptions@heartandsoulrescue.com.au if you are interested in adopting one of our precious souls, and we will email you our Adoption Application Form.
Once we have received your completed form, we will then contact you to discuss suitability. If we feel one of our cats or kittens will be suited to you, we will arrange a home visit or ask for a short walk-through video of your home.
If all goes well, we will give you a *trial period of 2 weeks to see if our cat or kitten is the right one for you 💕 *Conditions apply - We reserve the right to reject a full refund if recommendations & requests regarding your new cat/kitten have not been adhered to. (A 25% admin fee will apply)
