Three steps to pet profile success
Listing your pets on PetRescue.com.au gives you access to 20,000+ people searching the site every day! Give your pets the best chance at connecting with a new family by following these three steps to profile success.
1→ A great photo
Great pics get clicks! The photo is the first thing people notice when looking through the search results page. Try to ensure the main profile photo is clear, the pet looks relaxed, and do pay attention to what’s going on in the background. Enlist the support of a dedicated volunteer photographer if you can.
2→An engaging profile
Make the best feature field and the first sentence really count. These appear on the search results page and are the ‘hook’ to entice a prospective adopter to click on a pet to find out more. Don’t save your pet’s best points until last, or bury them amongst a bunch of other info - highlight their most positive features first. If you have long-term pets, regularly update and ‘bump’ their profiles so that people don’t skip over them.
Here’s some more info and examples you can steal, ahem, be inspired by.
3→Adopter-friendly processes
Nothing turns good people away from adoption like feeling overly scrutinised, judged, or like they have to jump through a series of hoops to get a response, or to adopt. That doesn’t mean being lax in your adoption processes - but there’s a way to word your procedures so that people feel excited and positive about engaging with your organisation.
Put out the welcome mat for adopters.
