In May and June 2026, rescue organisations across WA, NSW and VIC received a very welcome delivery, thanks to a generous donation of cat litter from POOWEE Australia.
A total of 5,760 two-kilogram bags, 12 pallets worth $29,145.60, were distributed to 56 rescue organisations across all three states, helping keep cats in care clean and comfortable!

How PetRescue’s Food & Product Donation Program Helps Pets and People
Thanks to the support of pet-loving partners and brands, like Poowee, PetRescue’s national food and product donation program helps coordinate the distribution of donated pet care items to vulnerable and at-risk pets across Australia.
We also want to say a big thank you to StarTrack, Metro Freight Lines and Freight Assist Australia for making the delivery possible, and to Emma from TACC Rescue, who volunteered her time to help coordinate pick-ups in NSW.
We recognise that supporting pets also means supporting the people who care for them. That’s why this program extends beyond PetRescue member organisations, including rescues, shelters and councils, to reach community outreach groups that help pets and people through changing life circumstances.
Rusty is Rescued - a children's book that gives back
A special mention goes to Tim Brown, the kind human behind Rusty is Rescued, who helped coordinate pick-ups as part of this donation, and is a passionate advocate for rescue pets and welfare education.
Tim's love for his rescue dog Rusty inspired The Adventures of Rusty the Dog: Rusty is Rescued, the first book in an ongoing series designed for kids aged 3–7 to read and explore with their parents. It's a warm, fun and accessible way to introduce little ones to rescue pets and the importance of animal welfare. And every copy sold includes a donation to PetRescue!
