Finding love made Sonny shine!
Remember our poster boy, Sonny, from Friends of the Hound Greyhound Adoption Group? He was one of the 40+ senior and special needs pets that featured in our Adoptables campaign this June. We’re thrilled to announce that he’s one of the 20 Adoptables that have now been adopted into loving families.
“My husband and teenage daughter fell in love with Sonny’s face when his gorgeous photo from The Adoptables campaign, popped up on the Friends of the Hound website,” says adopter, Amy. “The fact that he already has arthritis at the age of four made us think that he may be overlooked by others, but it didn't stop us! We have a large property and knew we had room for one more 40kmh couch potato who deserves a loving home.
“Almost as soon as Sonny arrived at our house, he came to stand over my legs. I quickly learned that this is his way of demanding attention. He’ll also paw at you when he wants more pats. And the moment I pick up my keys to do the afternoon school run, he’s at the car in a heartbeat. He does love a car ride!
“We renamed him Boomer, and he’s fitted right in with his two greyhound brothers, one greyhound sister and his human family. It means so much to us that we can give a loving home to these beautiful dogs.”
