A big, hairy, audacious presentation at General Assembly!
PetRescue’s Co-founder Vickie Davy was a keynote speaker at a recent animal welfare event hosted by the Social Innovation Network at General Assembly in Melbourne.
Vickie, a rescue champion, and one of the driving forces behind PetRescue’s ambitious Safe and Sounds Pounds campaign, addressed an enthusiastic crowd of animal welfare supporters on the various issues clouding the Australian pound system.
She encouraged the idea of creating positive change by leveraging technology and critical thinking, and also invited the audience for a constructive brainstorming sesh!
The #AnimalMatters event featured expert speakers including passionate animal advocates and social entrepreneurs from various industries who delivered thoughtful solutions to the crucial problems in animal welfare.
Every year, 100,000 pets are killed in pounds and with our new Safe and Sound Pounds campaign, we’re on a mission to bring this number down to zero.
An important aspect of reaching this big, hairy, audacious goal is seeking out potential collaborations that can amplify PetRescue’s efforts in disrupting the dysfunctional pound system and generating sustainable solutions to ensure the safety of every pet in Australia!
