Our emails have had a little security boost. The PetRescue dog logo will now appear as the verified sender avatar in supported email services, making our emails easier to recognise in your inbox and giving you greater confidence that they’re genuinely from the PetRescue team.

Improvement
Pet listing search results ordering improved
We refined the way in which pet listings are ordered in our search results to better prioritise listings based on when they were activated, rather than when they were created (as a draft). This helps give pets a fairer chance to be seen by potential adopters while making the draft feature more useful for our Members - which is always worth wagging about!
New feature
One Million Pets Adopted campaign launched
We launched our new One Million Pets Adopted campaign landing page and homepage takeover as part of our incredible adoption milestone celebrations! Featuring a live countdown (or… count up?) and celebration banner, the experience helped build excitement as we approached the remarkable milestone of 1,000,000 pets adopted through the PetRescue community!

Bug fix
Newsletter subscription syncing issue resolved
Our team fixed an issue affecting newsletter subscription syncing, where some users who had previously opted into updates weren't being added correctly to our mailing list. Subscriber preferences now sync reliably - helping ensure nobody misses out on PetRescue delivered updates (and very adorable snoots) landing in their inbox!
Improvement
Pet listing breed field cleaned up and verified
Historically, our pet listing breed field allowed users to add their own custom breed entries - which certainly led to some entertaining additions, alongside a large number of unverified options! We recently cleaned this up to ensure breeds listed on PetRescue are accurate and matched to verified selections, helping improve platform quality, data consistency and reporting accuracy.
New feature
Community Happy Tail gallery launched
To celebrate our upcoming One million pets milestone campaign, we prepared a new community Happy Tail gallery, where pet guardians can share photos and stories of the pets who changed their lives. From cheeky companions to beloved pets remembered over the rainbow bridge, the gallery creates a joyful space to celebrate all the connections made here on PetRescue.com.au!
Bug fix
User account archiving issue resolved
We resolved an issue preventing user accounts from being archived correctly. Account management should now be back to its best behaviour!

20 Years of PetRescue campaign banners launched
To celebrate 20 years of us, we rolled out some fun banners and updates to spotlight our 20 Years of PetRescue campaign and celebrate the enormous impact our community has made for pets over the past two decades 🐾
Improvement
Tighter Property Identification Code (PIC) validation on pet listings
As Property Identification Code (PIC) details are now required on relevant pet listings across all Australian states and territories, we started tightening up the rules behind information provided in this field when listing pets on our platform, to ensure clearer records, improved compliance and more consistent animal movement information from the jump!
Bug fix
Improved error handling for external platform integrations
Behind the scenes, we improved the way our systems handle unexpected errors when information is shared between PetRescue and external pet listing management platforms. This means fewer confusing error experiences and smoother communication between us when something goes a little ruff behind the scenes!
Bug fix
Pet adoption poster PDF formatting fixed
We fixed an issue affecting pet adoption poster downloads, where unintended formatting code from pet listing profiles was appearing in generated PDF's. Pet adoption posters are now in alignment with their online profile and all ready to once again help adorable adoptables get spotted out in the community!
