Large Male Bull Mastiff Mix Dog

Buddy is a 4 year old Mastiff cross. He came to us in mid 2015 under sad circumstances, the victim of an aggressive owner. Sadly his early life has left him with complex needs, but we hope like us, you believe he deserves a chance at a happy new home.
Buddy has been in long term foster care and is back with us for a few days while his current foster owners are on holidays. It's a great chance for interested parties to come in and meet him.
After a long time to observe his behaviours, we can be pretty specific on what the Bud will need in a new home:
Owners willing to give him time and space to get to know and trust them and not push him beyond his comfort level.
Owners who work part time on shift or from home (or perhaps recent or early retirees) - he may not cope left for long periods and has regular company in his current foster home.
Owners willing and wanting to work with a 'project dog' who does have his issues. He is not social with other dogs and needs to be walked away from busy doggy spots/ parks.
No children unless they are 'adult-kids' still in the home. He is not comfortable with children and will bark and lunge. If you have a busy household with children coming and going he won't suit you.
Buddy enjoys a quiet life where he can be your companion and not constantly having to deal with new people or situations. He's playful as you can see and does enjoy a long daily walk (around 45-60 mins).
Buddy is able to be re-homed in a foster pending adoption if you are suited match and wish to trial him at home with the support of our training staff/ foster co-ordinator.
We all know there's a home for every dog - it's just a matter of finding it! If you think you're the one/s for Buddy we would love to hear from you.
We take a great deal of care to match the temperament and needs of our dogs to the lifestyle of the adopter and this process provides an opportunity for the best possible outcome for both parties.
The Dogs Refuge Home treats every one of its dogs as its own and believe that every one of them deserves to live in a loving family environment where human interaction plays a major part in their lives.
