About Spring ~ German Shorthair Pointer ~(trial 15/10/15
Spring is a 10 week old large mixed breed puppy, thought to be German Shorthaired Pointer mix. She is an happy, friendly girl that loves to explore her surroundings. \ She also loves to play with other dogs and with children. She doesn't bother our chickens in their coop. After she has had enough play and adventuring she enjoys a cuddle on your lap and if you rub her nicely she will more than likely fall asleep.
Spring is great in the car and just curls up and sleeps until you get to your destination and then it is time to go exploring again. She is learning to come when called. Although all that is needed is for her to hear the door open and she is there in a flash. She is learning to sit when asked, be it only for a very short time. She is also learning to be on lead and is getting the hang of it.
When Spring and her siblings were very young they were dumped at a Hunter Valley worksite, along with their mother, and left to fend for themselves. Luckily they were saved from starvation by some of the workers and brought to Dog Rescue Newcastle. All the puppies were extremely skinny and full of worms. But thanks to the dedication of their foster carers all of the puppies have fully recovered and are healthy and happy and ready to begin the rest of their lives.
Spring was named after the season as it is a time of new beginnings and growth. And as everything seems to thrive at this time of year so too is Spring. Spring's sister Summer is also available for adoption.
We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training. Spring will also need high, secure fences, as she will grow up to be a large dog.
Spring's sister Summer and brothers Archer, Digby and Diego are also available for adoption:

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
