About August
Meet August, our gentle giant with a luxurious chocolate coat. More photos and videos of him on insta @two_white_foster_cats📽️
If you’ve ever dreamed of sharing your home with a cat who looks like he’s stepped out of a painting, August might just be the one. It’s not often we come across a solid chocolate-brown coat like his. For a big boy, he’s also remarkably graceful when he moves, almost as if he’s aware of his size and wants to tread lightly.
August and his three siblings were dropped off at a vet clinic in inner Melbourne as strays, facing euthanasia. They were so emaciated that vets thought they were four months old, when in truth they must have been closer to eight months. As a result, August’s official vet records list his date of birth as October 2024, though it’s more likely to be between June and August 2024. Thankfully, a kind vet nurse saw their potential, took them home and over the next months, nursed them back to health.
Thanks to her, August is now the picture of good health and is finally ready to find a forever family who will love him as much as he will love them.
August is a quiet thinker who loves spending time with his siblings, watching birds through the window, and leaning into pats and cuddles once he knows you. He’s like a big baby in the way he opens up for affection and enjoys it with his whole heart as soon as he feels safe.
Because August has grown up in a very small world, he takes his time to check out anything new before interacting. But once he feels secure, like when meeting a new dog through a window, he’s quick to want to say hello. Give him a calm introduction, and he’ll soon be nudging in for his fair share of affection.
August would thrive in a calm, settled home with adults or teenagers. In foster care, he’s shared space with small and medium-sized cat-savvy dogs, and he’s more curious than concerned. He’s grown up with his siblings and really enjoys feline company, so he’ll need to join a home with another friendly cat who would like a new friend, or even better he’d love to be adopted with one of his siblings, Diana, Benedict or Collins.
Can you imagine this elegant chocolate boy stretched out on your couch? Enquire now about August to take the first step toward bringing this gentleman home.
