About Wilbur
Sir Wilbur is a charming and chatty 14 years old gentleman who also happens to be blind and semi-deaf. Sir Wilbur was found immobile on the side of the road and came in riddled with fleas and scabs, a grade 3/6 heart murmur and some lameness on his left hind leg. Despite all that, Sir Wilbur is now thriving and looking for his forever home.
Personality
Sir Wilbur is the ultimate, the most perfect, the most affectionate lap cat. He will choose a cuddle over anything else every single time! He would lay on you for as long as you’d let him and would not move until you did. The perfect reading and movie buddy. Sir Wilbur is also quite a character with distinctive meows for when he wants to be let out to the backyard, when he wants a cuddle from you, or feeling a little grumpy, simply because. Sir Wilbur does meows quite a lot throughout the day and sometimes night, with his meows ranging from soft little chirps to loud continuous wailing. So, his forever family will need to accept and come to love this unique quirk of his! But there’s always a quick easy fix though – just pick Sir Wilbur up for a good snuggle session. He will melt into your arms, making biscuits and give you lots of head bops!
Medication & Hygiene
Sir Wilbur is a champ with his daily medications (2 tablets and 1 liquid). Flop the old guy on his back and he will instantly know it’s time for his meds and he’ll get a good cuddle session right after it! Sir Wilbur will also need help maintaining his hygiene areas a couple times a week. He will try to wiggle out of your arms declaring that he does NOT need your help! Lots of kisses and chin scratches I find, helps with making the whole process more bearable for the sweet old man. As Wilbur is an old man, occasionally wet tissues do not do the job hence, a bath will be needed! Sir Wilbur is a champ with it though and doesn’t mind the hairdryer! But when it comes to grooming, Sir Wilbur absolutely loves it! As Sir Wilbur has medium fur, the sweet man will need to be groomed regularly.
The Perfect Home
1) Humans who are retired or work from home on most days.
2) Fully embrace and love Sir Wilbur’s unique quirks!
3) Being able to give Sir Wilbur his daily medications.
4) Committed to cover Sir Wilbur’s medical cost and regular vet checks.
5) Committed to maintain his hygiene care and regular grooming.
6) Has a secured backyard that Sir Wilbur has full access to.
7) Gentle resident pets who will give Sir Wilbur his space.
Medical Notes:
Wilbur is sadly blind and semi-deaf and takes medication due to hypertension. This is all managed with medication.
He also has early signs of renal failure, which is currently just being monitored at this stage.
