What we are doing to lighten the load
PetRescue is passionate about bringing the advantages of the for-profit sector to the NFP world, especially in the use of technology to help drive social change.
We understand it can be overwhelming and frustrating when people don’t follow your rescue group's processes. That’s why we are continuing to develop and add features to the PetRescue website - to help pet seekers more clearly understand the adoption process, and to make it easier for rescue members to respond to enquiries.
Here’s what we’ve added since the launch of the Matchmakers project:
NEW advanced search catergories
Making it easier for pet seekers to find dog, cat, and child-friendly pets, indoor-only cats and pets suitable for full-time workers.
NEW mobile responsive site
Effectively enabling rescue pets to reach the whopping 60% of site users (that's over 12,000 visitors every day) who search for pets on their mobile device.
NEW rescue group adoption policy levels
Helping pet seekers clearly identify your group’s policies and understand your processes before starting the enquiry process.
And here’s what’s in the pipeline...
NEW Adopter profiles
Delivering the important information you need right from the very start of the enquiry process.
COMING SOON 'This pet is not a good match' alerts
Alerting people who try to enquire about a pet that doesn’t match their circumstances - to help your group receive only suitable matches your available pets.
COMING SOON More search improvements
Including optional postcode search refinements to help potential adopters looking for a local pet.
COMING SOON More updates to the online enquiry system
To make managing enquiries a whole lot quicker and easier than ever before!
And last, but by no means least...Safe & Sound Pounds
We are continually working to increase council membership and engagement through the Safe & Sound Pounds Project, as we understand this is a massive part of the solution to ensure a future where every pet is safe, respected and loved.
Do you have a question about the Matchmakers project or Safe & Sound Pounds? Or any other suggestions for website improvements or programs that would make your rescue life easier?
Get in touch at members@petrescue.org.au - most of our site developments come from your feedback!
