As we dive into the new year, we’re continuing to ensure that your account's security remains one of our priorities, so that you can focus on helping more rescue pets using our platform!
We’ve rolled out a new two-step verification system which will add an extra layer of security to the existing login process for your PetRescue account. These changes will be gradually rolled out to all member accounts over the next month or two. Once you’ve logged in with your username and password, you will be able to receive your verification code either via email, or via SMS if you have a mobile number attached to your account. This will be used to send you a dynamic security code each time you log in from a different device or browser.
Once you set up two-step verification, you will be asked to provide a verification code that is sent to you via SMS or email
If you have provided a mobile number or would like to receive the access code via SMS, you can update this in your account settings, by simply adding in your mobile number.
If you don’t have access to your phone and have already set up the two-step verification system, then you can simply click on the “I don’t have access to my phone” link and you’ll be sent a verification code to your email address, which you can use to recover your account any time you don’t have access to your phone.
If you would like to change your mobile number, you can always email us at members@petrescue.org.au and we can change your number for you.
Rest assured the login process is still as easy and breezy as it was earlier with just an extra precautionary step to keep any nosey troublemakers from accessing your account!
