Team Rescue supports the drought-hit community!
It’s always inspiring to see the rescue community band together to help pets in need. Our member rescue organisation, Wally’s Dog Rescue in regional Parkes NSW, reached out to us late last year, requesting help with food donations to support the pets of drought-hit farmers in NSW.
Our team contacted our major partner Mars Petcare, who support pets in need through our food donation program. Mars immediately got on board and donated close to $240,000 worth of free pet food! And being the all-stars that they are, Mars will be continuing these donations to drought-stricken farmers and the community in 2020, helping us kick our animal welfare goals one food donation at a time!
Following Wally’s distribution of the food, we were contacted by one of the recipients of the pet food, Maree, who expressed her gratitude for the collaborative effort that went into these donations!
Read Maree’s email to us below:
Before Christmas, I found 3 bags of dog food at my mailbox. I would like to send a huge thank you to Wally's Doggie Rescue, Parkes NSW for being a part of this lovely drop. We have been in drought for over 3 years now with no sign of the drought breaking. Our five dogs on the farm are all working sheepdogs and it is very uplifting to know that people are thinking of us.
We are extremely proud to work with pet-loving organisations such as Wally’s Dog Rescue and Mars Petcare, who always go above and beyond to create happiness for pets in Australia!
