Saving little Poppet
Sharon lost her beloved brindle boxer in mid 2012, and 18 months later her boys started asking, “When can we get another dog?” Finding herself outnumbered, she started searching for a rescue pup on the PetRescue website.
“Some three hours later, I found Poppet. I printed her profile and left it on the bench ready for when my husband got up for work at 3am. When I entered the kitchen the next morning, there was a note that simply said, ‘Yes, get her’.
“I immediately emailed the rescue group, who got back to me very quickly. And, after a few emails back and forth, the day soon came to go and pick her up.
“Poppet was everything we wanted and her foster family had done a wonderful job. She got to spend Christmas with us, joined us for a family camping holiday, and was the perfect angel.
“We renamed her Zoey. Although we now wished we’d called her Gizmo (from Gremlins), as she goes crazy when she’s fed, or gets wet!
“She is a wonderful addition to our family. We all look forward to sharing our lives with her, and hope it’s a long and happy one. Thank you PetRescue!”
You can save another Poppet by donating today! It costs as little as $10 to match one of our rescue pets with their new forever home.
