Puppy siblings turn a house into a home and a grown man to goo!
When a very heavily pregnant dog was brought into a country pound by a local ranger, WISH Animal Rescue answered the call to give her a safe place to birth her pups. In the pound, the whole family could have been exposed to sickness and disease. But in the foster home, all eight puppies were born healthy.
When they were ready for adoption, every single one, including Mum, found a new home via the PetRescue website. Two sisters were even lucky enough to find a home together with newlyweds Jessica and Kevin.
“We were browsing through the PetRescue website for a couple of weeks before we found Palau's profile and fell in love. She was standing on a rock, and had the most playful expression on her face!
“As soon as our adoption application was accepted, we couldn’t wait to start this exciting new chapter of our lives. I remember I was at work when Kevin brought her home. He sent me a bunch of photos and videos, and I rushed home after work to see her.
“On that very first night, Palau fell asleep in Kevin’s arms, with her tongue out and twitching her nose. It was the cutest thing!
“We had never planned to get two dogs, but it wasn’t long before we were talking about adopting another one. We looked again on PetRescue and discovered through WISH that Palau's litter mate, Eva, had been returned to the rescue group for rehoming.
Eva and Palau love spending time together
“We arranged to meet Eva, and took Palau along with us. They just hit it off instantly - playing, running around and chasing each other. So we decided to adopt on the spot!
“Palau had fitted in really well, she’s a real people lover. But Eva took a while to settle and learn to trust us. We’ve worked hard to help Eva build her confidence, and now she's growing into the most gentle and loving dog.
“Our new house immediately turned into a home the moment Palau and Eva came bounding through the door. And being able to give two dogs a second chance in life is one of the most rewarding things.”
