PetRescue has been recognised as a Winner for Outstanding Achievement in The Australian Charity Awards 2022!
It’s time to celebrate! 🥳️ We’re overjoyed to announce that PetRescue has been recognised as a Winner for Outstanding Achievement in The Australian Charity Awards for the second year in a row.
This award recognised PetRescue’s Home2Home program, designed to empower pet owners to find a new home for their pets. The program aims to help slow the flow of pets entering shelters and rescue groups that are mostly at capacity and ensure that the pet is in a stress-free home environment until they transition to a new home.
An alternative to surrendering, Home2Home leverages PetRescue’s technical capabilities, personnel expertise and massive online reach to create a safe digital pathway for pet owners to find a home for their pets directly. Once listed in front of the 30,000 potential adopters that visit PetRescue.com.au daily, pet owners can chat with potential adopters, arrange meet-and-greets, and select the right human for their pet as the person who knows them best.
Patima (Pats), PetRescue’s Managing Director, says about the win:
‘’When we launched this ambitious pilot program during a global pandemic, we knew that it was going to take hard work, grit and courage to make it through, but we had no idea of the scale of positive impact it was going to have. Our vision was firmly fixed on helping pets and people, offering a temporary solution to provide relief on the volume of demand felt by the rescue community during a time of turbulence and change.
The pilot has since shown that there’s a continued need for a supportive solution like this to exist. An alternative option that not only directly helps people and pets in need, but also prevents pets from needing to enter an unsafe system where their fate could become unknown.”
The program has grown rapidly, and the volume continues to outgrow our small team, so our focus is now on how we might be able to find innovative ways to scale our impact to help even more people and pets in the near future.’’
We couldn’t have done this without the support of our pet-loving community of supporters, our major partners, Mars Petcare, our sponsors, the PetRescue board, previous alumni, advisors, and volunteers, and last but certainly not least, the huge heart and efforts of the incredible rescue community in Australia!
