Newly adopted Bruce is ninety-nine pounds of pure love!
“All pound dogs have a story. You may never know the beginning of that story, but by adopting you can create the happy ending they deserve,” says adopter, Aleena.
“Bruce had been at the pound for a while when we found him on the PetRescue website, listed by Camden Council. On the day we arrived for a meet and greet it was raining, and Bruce was enjoying some free time in the exercise yard,” recalls Aleena. “He was having a ball running around, generally being a goofball and happily getting dirty. He was very happy to see us, and after covering us in his muddy paw prints, we knew he’d fit right in to our active family lifestyle.
“We thought we’d brought a horse!” laughs Aleena. “He laid on my lap in the car, all 45kgs of him. He was so happy to be with us. It made us feel great that we’d made his day!
“Taking Bruce on his first lead walk was very satisfying. He’s a true gentleman on the lead, which was a huge relief considering he’s such a big, strong boy. Within the first few days, we also discovered that he loves to be the centre of attention, likes to “talk” to you, enjoys standing under the garden sprinkler, and often rearranges his sleeping quarters - creating a kind of bed explosion!
“We spend lots of family time with Bruce. The kids really enjoy walking to school with him and he’s made us all more active. We’re thoroughly enjoying all the fun, love and health benefits he brings, and, deep inside, I feel that Bruce is very grateful for the loving home we have given him.”
