National Pet Adoption Day is on its way!
The countdown is on! The biggest day on the rescue calendar is less than two weeks away, and with more than 100 rescue organisations registered to take part in this epic event, we are so pumped to see how many pets will find love on Saturday February 9th, 2019.
We are also incredibly excited about this year’s theme - ‘Love knows no breed’. It’s the perfect opportunity to let Australia know that the temperaments of pets are influenced by more than just the breed they are labelled with. You never know who you might fall in love with, when you look beyond breed.
As part of this event, we will be giving all PetRescue-listed pets (not just the ones who can attend in-store) a chance to strip away their breed label and let their pure personality shine through. That’s why we will be temporarily removing breed labels from the PetRescue website in the lead up to National Pet Adoption Day, and on the day of the event.
The breed removal will run for one week, from Monday, February 4th to Monday, February 11th. You don’t have to do anything - all breed information that has been input into pet listings will be saved, and will revert to normal on Monday February 11th.
We’ve also got 200,000+ social media followers absolutely hanging to know which furry faces will be at their local PETstock stores!
Let us know your attending pets and we can promote them - simply email the details (pet's name, PetRescue ID, your rescue group name and which store you are attending) to members@petrescue.org.au.
