How to turn enquiries into donation dollars for your group
How to turn enquiries into donation dollars for your group
When PetRescue was founded 14 years ago, the idea that a rescue group would have too many enquiries seemed like an impossible dream. But here we are!
And as the rescue industry develops, it’s time to get a little more sophisticated and start thinking about how to make the most of each and every opportunity to promote your rescue.
Every enquiry you receive is an opportunity to engage with someone who wants to support your rescue!
And conversely, every email you don’t respond to is a potential donor or supporter lost. So give enquirers a good experience, and a reason to support your rescue group’s efforts!
A simple way to make the most of ‘too many enquiries’ is include an ‘ask’ for donations on your email signature or autoresponder.
Here’s a few basic examples that you can use, or be creative and create your own!
If our community rescue service has been useful to you, you can help us continue saving the lives of pets in need in your community by making a small donation today. Thank you.
It's a little awkward to ask, but we need your help. We’re not salespeople. We’re animal carers. We depend on public donations to help us help pets in need in your community, like [name of pet]. If you donate today, you can help our rescue group to thrive and save more lives. Thank you.
The price of a coffee is all we need. It's a little awkward to be asking this, as we're sure you’re busy. But there's never an easy time to remind people that giving to [name of group] not only helps to save the lives of homeless pets today, it also helps to keep a vital local community service alive and thriving. Donate today. Thank you.
We can't afford to feel embarrassed about asking you to make a donation today - just like you should never feel embarrassed when you reach out to us for help. We ask today in the pursuit of saving lives in your local community. That's nothing to be embarrassed about, if you ask us. Make a donation today. Thank you.
These templates are a super quick and easy way to start engaging with potential supporters. And they are just the tip of the iceberg! Check out these other articles to help your rescue group secure vital funding.
