First and foremost - don’t let a potential adopter get away!
If an enquirer’s preferred pet already has a home lined up, don’t miss the opportunity to suggest another pet in your care that might suit.
If you don’t have any other suitable pets, or the enquirer isn’t the right fit for your rescue organisation, here are some responses to add to your canned responses/saved replies.
When pet has a home lined up:
Hi [NAME],
Thank you for your interest in adopting a wonderful rescue pet!
[PET NAME] has been fortunate enough to receive a number of enquiries and looks to have found a loving new home.
We thank you for again your interest. You can continue your search on PetRescue.com.au, and we wish you all the best in your search for your new furry family member!

When pet is still available:
Hi [NAME],
Thank you for your interest in adopting a wonderful rescue pet.
[PET NAME] is looking for a specific home, and on careful consideration we believe there’s another lucky pet out there that is a better match for your circumstances.
You can continue your search on PetRescue.com.au, and we wish you all the best in your search for your new furry family member.
