PetRescue's Poster Girl Finds Her Place in the Palace
In just a few short weeks, Charli has gone from being PetRescue’s Safe and Sound Pounds poster girl to the queen of the castle in her new forever home.
Just after launching our Safe and Sound Pounds project, PetRescue was contacted by the Animal Protection Society of WA (APS WA) and told the good news - Charli, the sweet little fluffy that simply wouldn’t leave JB alone whilst we were shooting our crowdfunding video at their shelter, had been adopted!
The lucky duo were June and Arvon, a couple of lifelong cat lovers who were completely smitten with Charli from the get-go.
And it sounds as though Charli has made herself right at home, going as far as picking a favourite human! “She’s much more of a man’s dog than a woman’s dog” June laughs. “Charli is far more interested in getting my husband Arvon to take her for walks - the funny part is, she just pulls him along and he can’t slow her down! They both come home completely out of breath!”
It’s a happy ending to a very tough year for this special girl, who was diagnosed with cancer when she arrived at the APS shelter.
“We knew that Charli had a lump on the side and wanted to get it checked out. After having the lump removed, we have been and assured as that, even though it was ovarian cancer, it wouldn’t spread or impact upon Charli’s quality of life.”
“We’re certain that she has many wonderful years ahead of her that we can share in.”
If reading this Happy Tail inspired you to consider adopting, we have thousands of adorable pets waiting for their forever homes right now.
You can help us keep saving pets too, by making a donation to our rehoming programs. It costs just $25 to match one of our rescue pets with their new family.
