Buesi...
Finding new best friends via Facebook got a whole lot easier since PetRescue launched the ‘It’s Cool Having a Cat Around’ page. While flicking through the status updates, Andrea from Victoria happened to see a stunning black kitty called Buesi. Buesi instantly reminded her of her old cat Gizmo, who passed away just before Christmas 2010. She adopted her straight away.‘Gorgeous outgoing Buesi is a ‘love life’ kind of girl… A smart, independent and affectionate little miss,’ her profile read. She’d been in foster care from the age of eight weeks and was now 11 months old, well past the cute kitten stage. But Andrea was smitten. She could see Buesi was a special girl and made arrangements to meet her and foster mum Daniela of Second Chance Cat Rescue.
Andrea and her son Jack fell in love with Buesi in an instant, and took her home that same day. “She settled in so well and has grown into a gorgeous black beauty,” smiled Andrea. “And when we decided to get a friend for her, there was no question where our first port of call would be.”
In late April this year, Andrea adopted another kitty foster child from Daniela’s Second Chance Rescue, four-month-old little Frenchy, or ‘French Fry’ as they affectionately call him.
“Two cats is definitely the purrfect number,” exclaimed Andrea. “And being able to support the efforts of PetRescue superstars like Daniela, by giving Buesi and Frenchy a home, is an absolute honour!”
Daniela was just as pleased to know that all the hard work she put into saving those lives paid off with a happy ending.
“When Carol from PetRescue got in touch to say she’d put Buesi onto the Facebook site, I got my daughter to find it for me,” laughed Daniela. “I was so thrilled to see Carol had posted such a lovely story. That was Buesi's lucky day, and it just goes to show that only by spreading the word can we give more animals a second chance at a happy life.”
