When Natalie and Mason first started looking for a doggo to adopt in 2020, they had no idea just how much their lives were about to change. 💚 They spent weeks browsing the PetRescue website, searching for the right match for their lifestyle. After meeting one dog who wasn’t the right fit, they felt defeated, but kept on searching for their new furry family member.
“That’s when we saw 8-week-old ‘Chase’ (now Jax), in the care of Animal Desexing Clinic,” Natalie recalls. “He looked and sounded perfect for us, so we frantically applied for a meet and greet and adopted him on the spot! It was such a simple and easy process, and we’re forever grateful for the amazing boy we adore today.”
From the moment Jax bounded into their lives, everything changed for the better. “Jax has changed our lives in so many ways and fulfilled so much happiness in us both,” Natalie says.

Big dog = big love
Jax might have been a teeny pup when the couple first adopted him, but he’s grown into a beautiful, energetic, and affectionate big dog - exactly what Natalie and Mason had hoped for. “He’s kind, loving, energetic, and funny. We wouldn’t have him any other way,” she says.
But the biggest surprise has been the ripple effect Jax has had on their lives. “He’s inspired us to move to a bigger home - and we’re actually building it right now! He’s the biggest motivation behind creating a space where he can thrive,” Natalie shares.
Jax has also brought a whole new sense of joy, connection, and purpose to their days. “He just makes us feel happier in general. He’s amazing,” Natalie shares.

A life full of fun!
For Natalie and Mason, Jax isn’t just a pet, he’s part of every moment. The couple’s lifestyle is relaxed and family-oriented, and Jax is at the centre of it all. Whether they’re visiting family (where Jax gets to play with his best friend Duke), heading out on camping trips, exploring local cafes and markets, or just curling up on the couch to watch TV, Jax is always by their side.
“Jax loves to watch TV,” Natalie says. “The Dog House and Clarkson’s Farm are his absolute favourites!”
Now that they’ve settled into their new home, Natalie and Mason are excited about all the space they have for him to run, play, and explore. “We can’t wait to spend lots of time throwing the frisbee in our big yard,” Natalie says. “It’s so nice to give him room to stretch his legs and be his happy, goofy self.”

Adopting a gentle giant
For anyone thinking about adopting a larger dog, Natalie has one piece of advice: go for it.
“I love bigger dogs because they’re cuddly and such gentle giants,” she says. “The love they give back is endless.”
She says Jax is not only smart and well-mannered, but also incredibly social. “He’s so affectionate, and loves absolutely everyone and gets along with all dogs, no matter their size.”
Natalie says about her experience with the PetRescue website, “It was so easy to locate and apply for pets. We found Jax quickly, and the adoption process was straightforward and seamless.”

Life with Jax today
Now settled in their dream home, Natalie and Mason can’t imagine life without Jax. “He’s just a very happy-go-lucky dog who is thriving in his new environment,” she says. “He constantly makes us laugh with his little quirks, even when he jumps on our heads at 3am because he’s scared of thunder!”
Through all the moves, house-building stress, and big life changes, Jax has been their constant source of love and happiness.
“We wouldn’t be the same without him,” Natalie says. “He hasn’t just changed our home, he’s changed our lives.”
