The Shepparton Animal Shelter is the ideal place to visit if you are looking for your lost pet or for a new addition to the family. The Shelter is owned and operated by the Greater Shepparton City Council. Our dedicated team cares for a variety of different lost, surrendered or abandoned animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, poultry, goats, cattle, sheep and horses.
Animals that enter the Shelter Adoption program undergo veterinary assessments and treatment (including vaccinations, worming, flea treatment, microchipping and de-sexing) and a behaviour evaluation and rehabilitation prior to adoption. (as required).
The Shelter also works with various Community Foster Care Networks and Animal Shelters accross Victoria to assist animals in finding a home.
If you are interested in adopting an animal, please contact the Shepparton Animal Shelter by TELEPHONE ONLY (03) 5832 9700 to arrange an appintment for a 'Meet and Greet' at the Animal Shelter between 8:30am- 3:30pm Monday to Friday. A team member at the Shelter will explain via telephone the adoption process and adoption fees prior to your visit. Please do not email as this will delay the process. While we endeavour to keep the website up to date as possible, animals that are advertised may have already found a forever home.
