Hi there! Major here! Are you looking for the goodest boy ever? Because here I am! I didn't have the greatest start to life, not that I've let that slow me down. I like to say my true life started when OTC sprung me from the pound. I've been very well cared for since, and some might say even a little bit spoilt. My foster dad says I am a wonderful dog, I am very friendly and absolutely love people and other dogs. I have only met a couple of cats for a little bit but they were pretty nice to me so I liked them! Kids are okay too, I like that they sometimes have food on their hands because I love to lick! Mmmm Kids! But don't worry I'm passed that teething stage too so I am not nibbly or bitey either, I promise I won't eat your small humans. I like to chase balls and I really enjoy playing tug of war with my foster dad. I'd really love it if my furever family could take me for walks every day and even visit the dog park too for some bonus dog play. I currently sleep outside in my kennel. I did have my bedroom inside (a whole bedroom just for me!) but I like my freedom and being able to pee at 1 am without my foster dad knowing about it, is definitely what I like about freedom! I am crate trained too so if you do want me to sleep inside, no problem!I'm also completely house trained so no treating your floors like a bathroom from me. Except if you lock me inside. I'll try my best to hold it but I do prefer to do my business in nature, where I can hear the wind blow and the birds sing. I'm all up to date with my vaccinations, intestinal worming, flea treatments, tick treatments, and heartworm prevention. I've had the big snip so no risk of future generations from me. If size matters to you when it comes to all things doggy, then check out this giant ball of goofy goodness! Tia is a 4 year old Great Dane x Bull Mastiff. She has had all her vet work done and is ready to start her life with a family who can handle all 50kg’s of her.Tia was living with another older dog and also with kids. Her energy and pumbles became too much for the older dog and that’s why she is in our care. She would love to have another large and youngish dog to play with and keep her company.Due to her size, she will need to be homed with kids over 12 who she can’t accidentally knock over. She will also need someone to give her some patience and training for walking on lead. We would highly recommend a balance harness or halti for her as she is really strong.Secure fences and gates are a must and Tia’s family will need to accommodate and research the needs of a large breed dog as far as nutrition, joint health etc. as she goes through life. Hi! I'm Ted, a 4yo, red kelpie x. My foster carers tell me I’m an adorable, bouncy, fun, smart, handsome, stubby tailed (it’s very cute) little man. The things I like best are: food and treats, playing with grown up humans in the back yard, snuffling around the garden, being cuddled, stroked, getting my tummy scratched, getting brushed, cuddling on my blanket in the evening beside my humans whilst they watch TV, lying on an old couch overlooking the yard and did I say treats? I also love when it’s hot and my human and I play with the hose. I jump up and catch the water in my mouth. It’s also fun to chase a big ball in the garden and chew toys. I’m great at chewing and my human says I’m the best because I only chew my things and no one else’s. I have very good basic training. I know how to sit and lie down, wait at my bowl for my dinner and go to bed without a fuss. I can even sleep in a crate at night, which is probably a good thing as sometimes I get very scared when woken up suddenly and I might growl or snap at you. I’m okay for a few hours on my own in the laundry on my bed with my blanket and some toys during the day, but I don’t like being left alone for a very long time. I would be very sad if I was on my own most of the time every day or always kept in the yard.When I see other dogs, I get very frightened and I bark at them quite a lot and I mean a lot. Being around dogs or next door to yard dogs, is my least favourite thing, it makes me very anxious and I start to bark a lot. Being on a lead is my second least favourite thing because when on a walk, you never know when you may come across another scary dog. My foster human thinks I maybe never got to play with other dogs or maybe bigger dogs attacked me when I was a puppy and that’s possibly why I find other dogs scary. My foster carer helps me feel safe by not taking me to places where there are other dogs, speaking to me kindly, being patient and playing with me. My carer says she thinks I was may have been hit by a loud, angry person when I was little because I get very anxious and cower down and put my ears back when I hear loud voices. DRN can recommend a very good force-free trainer to help me get over with my fears, but to be honest I’d much rather just be with my human than see or be with other dogs. I can be a little anxious when meeting new people so be patient with me while I get to know you. Once I know and trust you I’ll be your BFF, especially if you have treats!My ideal forever home would be somewhere not in suburbia. If you’ve got land, I’m your man. Noises like lawnmowers and children playing make me anxious. I’d love to live in the wide open spaces with a big yard with a solid high fence so I can’t see things that frighten me through it and without any dogs in the adjoining yards. I’d like a forever home where I am the littlest and most energetic in the house. I need a human who would understand that I have not had the best start in life, that I can be anxious when things change and that I need you to be patient, kind and have time for me and enjoy having me to play with in your yard and in your home. I’m loving, cuddly and fun when I feel safe. Hey, I’m Mia and I’m searching for a new family that includes people who love to hug.I’m an unknown mix, but that doesn’t bother me, maybe a bit of Staffy or a bit of Mastiff. I’m nearly 2 years old and my last people used me as a puppy producing machine. I’m probably what you could call a medium sized dog but I’m no ordinary dog.I just live for spending time with my people and getting lots of hugs and belly rubs.I’m pretty low maintenance - no long coat, dramas for me.I love to go zooming around the yard with toys in my mouth - sometimes I play tug, sometimes I chase a ball - I’m super-fast and very strong - I could try to climb over anything less than a 2 metre fence if there was something really interesting over the other side.I have been trying to build a friendship with the large bossy cat at my foster home, but he’s just too bossy - I keep trying. I do run at the chook yard gate to make the chooks jump, so maybe I shouldn’t be with chooks.I’m pretty good with other dogs, so I’d be happy to have a friend in the yard. We’d need to meet first. I do prefer big dogs as my friends.Out and about for a walk - I can be in a bit of rush, so the people have said I’d need some more work on the lead - I’m ok with that - especially if it comes with treats and hugs. Probably best if you’re children aren’t too little. I’m big, loyal and loving. Thankfully my mum and dad invested lots of time making sure I was taught how to behave so that my size didn’t become a problem.I’m a pretty smart boy - I can sit, stay, drop and shake hands. If you take me for an outing off-lead, I promise I won’t go far and will come as soon as you call me. Did I mention that I have lovely manners and have been taught not to jump up on people. I’m a very easy-going young lad who will happily meet new strangers and receive pats. I am good with other dogs, but every now and then there is a dog I don’t like, but hey, who likes everyone? I have spent a fair bit of time around small dogs, but due to my size, I wouldn’t be suited to living with a small dog permanently.I used to be an inside boy, so I am completely house trained. I currently sleep outside, but I would love a family that would let me sleep inside. I think I’d be pretty good at snuggling up on the lounge to keep you warm on these cold nights, but I’d be pretty content on a rug at your feet too.I haven’t been around young children and while I have beautiful manners, I am quite strong so would be best suited to a household without young children. I currently live without another dog, so would be ok in another family without a dog, provided they can give me lots of attention and they have the space for me to play. Introducing our latest friendly loveable boofa! A big beautiful brindle boy, Rocco was abandoned in a home by his owner. Thankfully he was rescued before anything could happen to him. Rocco is a friendly happy and social boy who will make an great addition to an outgoing single, couple or family with older kids or teens.He absolutely loves his toys and cannot get enough of ball play! He also is partial to cuddles with people and handing out kisses.Since coming into care, we have found that he is toilet trained, and he is learning some great new skills. He is good in the car and learning to walk nicely on lead. He will benefit from further training with his new owners being that he is a solid lad.Although we haven’t formally assessed him yet, Rocco appears to be okay around other dogs, but will need socialisation. Rocco is currently in kennels and would love to get into a warm home over winter.
