About Mr Buttons
Mr Buttons is a majestic and chill cat who loves playing one-on-one with wand toys, strings and laser pointers. He enjoys being chased and will happily smooch you when you give him some head rubs! Will cuddle up on your bed with you when he feels comfortable.
Despite his chill demeanor, he is easily startled by loud noises, so he may not be the best fit for households with children or dogs. However, Mr Buttons does get along well with other cats, so if you have another friendly feline at home, that would be ideal for him.
Additionally, Mr Buttons needs special food due to developing FLUTD and doesn’t like the heat too much - outdoor access in a cat enclosure would be beneficial to his health and well-being. All in all, he is a loving cat who just needs a safe, quiet place to call home.
Medical notes
Mr Buttons has been diagnosed with FLUTD
Feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD) is a cluster of conditions that can affect the bladder and urethra in cats. Symptoms such as straining to urinate, frequent urination, blood in the urine, excessive licking of the hind quarters, and urinating outside the litter box are common indicators. Diagnostic tests such as x-rays, urine cultures, and ultrasounds can be used to identify the underlying cause. Treatment options vary depending on the diagnosis but typically involve environmental enrichment, dietary changes, and analgesics. With close monitoring and care, cats with FLUTD can enjoy a good prognosis. To help prevent FLUTD, it is important to reduce stress and make sure your cat has access to fresh water and a clean litter box.
Has has had a few episodes and the current owner will be able to provide all vet information and results of tests that were performed.
Vet thinks Mr Buttons is stressed due to his owner having moved from a previous apartment to a new one where there is noise from new construction and neighbors. Stress can cause FLUTD. All blood tests and xrays have come back as normal.
