About Rowan - Dingo x Great Dane
Hello! I'm Rowan, and I'm a unique mix... my DNA showed that I'm part Dingo and part Great Dane! I can be shy at first, but once you get to know me, you'll discover I'm a quiet, gentle giant who loves long bush walks and ear rubs.
I thrive in the company of other dogs and would love to have a dog sibling to play with and to help build my confidence in my new home.
While I enjoy outdoor adventures, I also love quiet moments at home. I'm the kind of pup who would like to curl up beside you on the couch or rest my head on your lap while you read a book or watch TV.
I walk really well on lead, and exploring the great outdoors is my favourite thing. I can get easily startled by loud noises or lots of people though, so quiet hikes in the bush or walks at the beach are much better for me than busy places like markets or cafes.
I am a foodie at heart! Treats are a fantastic way to win me over, and I'm quite the expert at gentle treat-taking. I know how to sit already and I have some experience with house training/toilet training but might need a refresher in my new home after living outdoors at the shelter.
What I'm Looking For:
I'm searching for a patient and understanding forever home that appreciates my gentle, shy nature and love for other dogs. I need a home with older, patient kids only (10+) as I'm easily startled and scared by loud noises and sudden movements. I need a doggy friend to help build my confidence. I also need a secure 1.8m fence and a home with no small animals, cats, livestock or birds please (unless they can be kept entirely separate).
Adoption details
Please note at this time pending legal advice we are unable to offer fox kit adoption to private owners.
Dingo Adoption:
1. Send an email inquiry with your name and contact details outlining your current living situation, pets and family members and anything else you think might be relevant, particularly what your house and yard are like. Remember our dingoes typically require an enclosure or modified fencing.
2. We will email you back adoption information and an application form to fill out and return to us.
3. If your application is approved- Come along to meet us and our dingoes at our Goulburn shelter or their foster carers' home and let us find the right furry family member for you. We can also come to you. We are happy to meet new prospective owners anywhere in NSW or the ACT.
4. Before you can pick up your new dingo you will also need to under a house/yard check and pay your adoption fee. No animals are rehomed unless their adoption fee is paid in full and a yard check has been completed.
