About Fudge
Meet Fudge, our super dooper trooper who needs the most special family yet!
Fudge joined Diamond In The Ruff Rescue straight from the pound system, so we had no information about him, other than him being okay with other dogs.
With no medical history, there is only so much that can be guessed by our vets to best help our boy, and, sadly, our team believes he was a victim of trauma that has caused a spine lesion in the sacrum/caudal area (lower back and tail) that has made him urine and faecal incontinent.
You’d think Fudge wouldn’t move after an injury like this but you couldn’t be more wrong. Despite a slightly abnormal gait, Fudge loves to strut his stuff as much as the next dog or maybe even more, as he really has come out of his shell and adores life. Fudge is full of beans, loves to run, jump, and then rest until he recharges, especially in the sun, although at a slow pace even a toddler can keep up with.
We truly see each and every one of our adoptive families as the best, but we need an extra special one for Fudgey who understands he cannot tell when he needs the toilet and will not ever get him in trouble because of his accidents.
The ideal lifestyle for our special boy would be a home where he does not get left alone much, a property with a grassy backyard, and where the humans love to spend their time outdoors (maybe gardening…). He wouldn’t mind a fur sibling or more (if compatible) and wouldn’t mind children used to decent-sized doggies that like to learn and play with them. Fudge is extremely easy to walk on the lead.
To deal with his incontinence, Fudge wears a belly band and diaper with board shorts type over so they stay in place when he moves. He is a fashion statement out and about saying hello to everyone he meets.
A secure 6-foot (1.8 meters) or higher fence is a must so he is safe at all times, especially when left alone.
Fudgey is the most loving and loyal friend you can welcome into your family and, due to circumstance, we believe outdoorsy and fit stay-at-home individuals looking for a 24/7 companion would match him, like a house on fire, as he just loves company and wants very much a part of his new family.
Fudge is young, not in pain and full of life and it would be cruel to not give him a chance at happiness. If you have that special space in your heart, please do consider this one in a million personality that will make you smile at every look you share. He will definitely love you to the moon and back!
Fudge is okay with other species of pets, although it is a must to meet before adopting.
If you would love to meet this special pooch and can offer him the home he deserves, please fill in an application form.
