About Ritzy
Ritzy is the perfect greyhound! She looooves her bed and napping, but also is super happy to greet you with a waggy tail and smooches. She is super affectionate. We are sure that Ritzy would love a home with any combination of people, as long as they bring all the pats.
Ritzy thrives on routine. She is always enthused to greet us in the morning. She spends the day running with our deerhound, and then is really happy to go to bed with a biscuit.
Ritzy has been wonderful with the other dogs she has met in care. We would suggest she is best suited to medium-large dogs as she would probably tread on little dogs when she is having her silly moments. We have not seen her show aggression to any dog.
Ritzy is a great eater and will be easy to train with food based methods.
Ritzy has always lived in a kennel environment, so will need some guidance in learning how to live in a house - as in the right places to toilet, how to use a couch, how to use a dog door, and that garbage bins are for rubbish instead of snacks. Ritzy's enjoyment of a good bed makes us believe she will quickly learn the comfy-est place in the house!
Ritzy is not suitable to a home with cats or pocket pets.
As a purebred greyhound, Ritzy is legally required to be muzzled in public places in South Australia. A muzzle is provided at Ritzy's adoption so she may be legally walked in SA.
Medical notes
Ritzy has an old racing injury and occassionally limps. We imagine she will be prone to arthritis as she ages.
