Hi friends! My name is Fiano but you can call me Fi. My siblings and I were surrendered by my breeder as they were unable to provide proper care for us. As part of the arrangement, Off The Chain have desexed our mum for the breeder so that the cycle will stop here. Happy smiles all round!
Since coming into care I've been a dream to care for; my foster carer has worked hard on giving me a great start to life. I like to spend my days exploring the yard, napping and wrestling with my furry foster siblings. I currently live with a large breed female who is my best friend! I also meet other dogs most days when we go to the local dog park. It's my favourite time of day; there is dog agility equipment I love to play on, and it's always nice to play chasies with the other dogs! I tend to leave older dogs alone and instead play with the other young and bouncey pups- I'm getting really great at reading dog social cues!
I travel well in the car, sleep well in a crate at night and am a very confident and happy puppy. I love to meet new humans and am very food motivated so it's not hard to train me; I love to learn and please you. I am toilet trained and my leash skills are improving by the day!
In my forever home, I would love to get out for an adventure each week, to run sniff and roll and would love to go on daily walks/runs with you! I also need a dog friend to keep me company. I am used to a carer who works outside of the home part time, so a working family is a-ok! I love my crate as it is my safe space, so I'd love for you to continue that routine for me, and if you're looking for a couch-cuddle movie buddy, I'm ya girl!
My mum is a bulldog arab mix, and my dad is a staffy cattle dog mix; my expected adult size is medium-large and approx 30kg. I would like to be behind a 5ft fence or higher so that as I grow, I am not tempted to escape the yard. Being a young dog, I am going to grow up however you allow me to- so it's important to spend your early weeks with me getting my routine and training down-pat. I am a smart pup who is a keen learner and will make you very happy! I would prefer to live with other dogs.
So what do you think? Could I be the one for you? Apply to adopt me now!
Ps- curious about my name? Well, feel free to change it if you adopt me (most dogs learn new names fast). For now, I'm affectionately named Fiano, after a delicious white wine served at Toowoomba's leading wine bar, Cork & Lever- who partnered with Off The Chain to fundraise for the rescue of my litter! They hosted a 'Cocktails for A Cause' event and it was a huge hit; check out Off The Chain and Cork & Lever socials for details of the next one! Funds raised from the event covered the desex of my mum, and our special medications required for our wormy bellies. Thanks, C & L fam!
Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following: real estate approval, fence repair if needed, outside shelter areas and look into the dog's breed dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed.
Apply here after reading below:- Adoption Application: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/OTCadoptionapp
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applications may meet the dogs. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the dog at your home or in a public place. If you have other animals they should please be at the meet.
If at the meet, you and the dog get along- you have the option of either taking the dog on the spot (in exchange for the full adoption fee paid upfront, and contract signed)- or placing the dog on hold for up to 2 days without any holding fee applicable. When adoption begins you will be provided with 7 days worth of food for the dog, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet carefully and slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold dogs for 3 days or longer, without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the dog, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters and so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit non refundable to avoid time-wasters, especially when it comes to puppies under 5 months of age. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the dog. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you pay a $100 holding fee so we can hold the dog for a week- the day you collect the dog you will sign and adoption contract, and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC immediately and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area so OTC can cover any treatment needed. At the completion of your adoption trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract and relevant vet documents.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox should you want an update on your application.
