About Katya
Introducing the loveable Katya, who is a gorgeous one year old male Staffy x Sharpei and a perfect desirable size for most families. He adores playing with other dogs and is very dog social. He's a happy go lucky boy!
Katya likes to follow you to see what you are doing or where you are going and adores being by your side. He simply loves getting cuddles and affection. Being a younger boy he loves to play and do a few zoomies but then is happy to relax and sleep by your side or on his bed.
Weighing in at around 18kg, he is a medium size and would suit most families looking for a loveable, easy to manage dog. We have limited history on Katya as he was found as a stray in rural NSW. He was then saved by MPDR from a rural NSW pound a few days before euthanasia.
Katya loves his food and treats and is very gentle taking food from your hand. He is not protective over his food with humans. I always pat his head and side of face when he starts eating so he gets used to it. He has not been tested with dogs around food.
This loveable boy is getting more confident with walking on a lead and loves to smell things. He walks with his tail up, so he definitely likes it more and more as he gets to know the big wide world. When he sees other dogs he gets a bit excited because he wants to say hello which is natural.
Katya will need to be an indoor dog and have access to outside. In doing so, he will feel safe. He has not been destructive while we have been out or at work all day. I give him food and a treat and he is fine.
Katya's ideal family is a young/teenage family or active younger couple. He will love having more people to play with and giving him the attention he deserves. He would also enjoy sharing his home with another friendly dog.
Katya is recovering very well from surgery on his grade 2 luxating patellas.
Katya has not tested with cats.
