About Pearl
We are now taking applications of interest to adopt our beloved Pearly girl đ
As Pearl has some medical needs that will require ongoing care, the right applicant must meet the below criteria
- Experience with the Shar Pei breed
- Able to bring her to vet appointments in the Sutherland Shire area of Sydney
Pearl's Details
- Shar Pei
- Other dogs â
- Untested with cats & pocket pets
- Kids under 5 â
- No separation anxiety
- Very confident
- Loves the car and going on adventures!
- Loves her toys
- She has had her entropion repair/skin fold resection surgery â
This is what Pearl's lovely foster family had to say about her....
"Pearly Girl is a very loving little pup! Sheâs always up for a game of tug with her toys or is more than happy to curl up at your feet while you watch tv.
Pearl has absolutely no separation anxiety and can be left on her own with no issues. Her wiggly little butt will be extra happy to see you when you get home.
Pearl is great with other dogs and hasnât had any issues with her greyhound foster sister. She would get on really well with another playful dog.
She can be a bit of a guts and will try and eat her foster sisterâs food - so separate feeding areas would be the way to go.
Pearl needs a bit of extra TLC when it comes to her skin. She has a weekly bath and a tablet every night. Pearl also needs a little bit of moisturiser on her nose every night as her little tongue canât quite reach her nose to wet it herself.
Pearl has some sight issues but does a really good job of mapping out her surroundings so she doesnât bump into anything. This also means she can be nervous of meeting new people. But with some reassurance and pats she comes around."
If you meet our Adopter criteria and are interested in Pearl, please apply via the adoption application link.
Medical notes
EYES
- Pearl is not completely blind but is vision impaired. She is still a very confident girl and loves her walkies, car rides and exploring. She doesn't let her vision impairment hinder her in any way, it's just something to be considerate of when applying.
SKIN
- Pearl has ongoing skin irritations and needs a bath with medicated shampoo (Malaseb) once a week ongoing.
DIET
- Pearl has no major diet restrictions, but an allergen sensative diet will help keep her skin issues at bay.

Adoption details
Our adoption process is as follows.
1. Fill in our adoption application form. This can be obtained by contacting us or through the link in our bio on Facebook and instagram.
2. If your application is successful we will contact you to arrange a time for a meet & greet.
3. Meet & greet and general home inspection. This is to ensure the dog you are interested in is suitable for your home environment. It also allows us to introduce the dog to any other pets in your home, in a safe and controlled manner.
4. If the meet & greet is successful you have the option to continue with a two week adoption trial.
5. If the adoption trial is successful and all parties are happy then we can proceed with the paperwork and finalise the adoption.
Please note - all our foster carers get first preference on adoptions. We love a 'foster-fail' đ
