About Bert
Bert is a young dog who has lots of energy and is after a family that he will be able to bond with and learn how to become a well adjusted part of a household.
Bert can sit for his meals and he loves his food, which we have used to start some other training. He has had one lesson at walking on lead at heel and was picking it up in a short time. He still needs work on this but is willing to learn, with food treats being the way to his heart. He has a lot of potential and with training by someone who has the time and patience with him.
He travels well in the car or dog crate on the ute.
He is desperate to play with other dogs and can come on a bit strong with his enthusiasm so would be best suited with another more tolerant female dog or by himself with his human.
Bert would need a couple of walks or runs each day and have lots of toys to keep him busy when your not around. He loves to play with a variety of toys and with time, he could possibly transform the toy play into fly ball if the time was spent on him.
He has not been in the house so not house trained. He will need a secure yard.
He is not good with cats especially when they run and has shown a bit too much interest in the resident chooks, so would be looking for a home without either of these.
We have not had him around livestock due to his recall being not very good and he gets easily distracted by everything. So walks and runs would be on lead.
He would love adventures and isn’t scared of anything, so camping, travelling or just staying at home playing would suit him.
