About Eggplant
Eggplant's beautiful looks match his beautiful nature.
Eggplant is an approximately 2 year old male kelpie and a very happy chap with not a mean bone in his gorgeous body.
He is submissive by nature and whilst inquisitive he is respectful of boundaries with other animals such as dogs, cats and livestock. However being a working breed, if other animals are in flight mode, he may give chase.
He is very much a people dog and just wants to be with you. Being an agile, young working dog he can be pretty bouncy and can easily jump 4 foot fences to come and find you, once with you, he doesn’t leave your side though once there and he has good recall.
Eggplant is a very smart young fellow and eager to learn and please. He will sit and come on demand and he is learning not to jump. The lead is a new concept to Eddie so he would be well suited to dog training being that he is so connected with his handler and very intelligent.
Eggplant has only recently been separated from his mum for the first time in his life so he is looking for connection and reassurance as he learns to navigate life on his own.
The perfect home for Eggplant would be with someone with a good understanding of working breed dogs and who has had previous experience. Eddie thrives with companionship, human or dog so would not do well on his own, he is super social and a little nervous dog. If left alone, he could become destructive or an escape artist!!
Eggplant is great with kids, although as he is young and learning the ropes and little bouncy, he would be better suited to a family with kids 7 years and above.
Whilst Eddie is a working dog, he is extremely happy to curl up at your feet (or preferably your lap) and snore soundly. He settles easily, travels well in the car happily and will go with the flow as long as he is with his person.
Eggplant is a stunning dog that with the right person will be that once in a life time dog.
