About Spearmint
Spearmint (Minty) – a gorgeous little girl from the milkshake litter
Minty is a 4 month old, female Bull Arab Cattle Dog cross.
Minty is a slightly timid pup who has adapted really well to her foster family.
When she arrived she was frozen with fear, but within a couple of days of intense love and being made to feel safe and that she belongs, her gorgeous nature has shone through.
The big wide world is still a little scary for Spearmint and we are slowly introducing her to more people and places. She is becoming more comfortable on her lead.
In her foster home she has a Wolfhound Cross and she loves the boisterous play with her. They play really well together and she can hold her own with another big female dog. Although I think, she would better suited to a home where she is not competing with a dominant female.
She is also being very gentle with Butch the 8 year old Maltese cross who is also a rescue and can be a little grumpy with her. She gives him his space when he needs it, but she loves snuggling up to him at night.
She is fascinated by the cat and definitely keeps her distance as the cat has given her a few smacks for being a big, bouncy but gentle puppy.
She will sleep in her crate all night, but she prefers snuggling with the humans. She is pretty much toilet trained; she has a few accidents but nothing out of the ordinary for a puppy.
Spearmint has learned to sit and seems to be quite intelligent. She picks up things quickly and is pretty obedient for a puppy, She has learned to open bifold doors and she climbs the baby gate in the house, I didn’t secure the crate very well one night and she got out of that too!
She is quite calm and gentle – the sweetest nature. Our family has really loved having this gorgeous girl around.
Spearmint has had playdates with older children and would fit into any family. Although she is growing quickly and looks like she’ll be medium to large so best suited to someone that is prepared to put in the time to train a big dog.
She doesn’t bark much, but when she does, it’s the cutest thing. She wants to commit to barking but holds back – doesn’t put her heart into it! I think she only barks because the Wolfhound cross does.
Minty will make a great companion for a family, couple or single person as she will be loyal and loving. She likes hanging out with the other dogs but prefers her humans and she deserves to be the centre of attention, she’s a beautiful dog.
She’ll go flat out 100% playful then crash by your side for hours. She’ll love any adventure, as long as you are by her side.
