About Wattle
Wattle is a 7 week old pure bred French Bulldog puppy who was born with a cleft palate, hence ending up in rescue with his brother. He has been tube fed around the clock and has successfully transitioned onto solid food.
Now that he’s been vet checked, microchipped, and received his first vaccination it’s time to find this boy his forever home!
Wattle needs a family who has another pet in the household for company as well as someone understanding of the breed. As he comes with medical ‘issues’ and is a French Bulldog, a breed known to have skin issues to more, it’s highly recommended that you invest in pet insurance before considering adoption.
Wattles adoption fee helps to cover some of his costs whilst in care. This ranges from countless feeding tubes and syringes, kilos of milk replacement, hours of tube feeding/cleaning/monitoring and now, socialising with other healthy dogs, people of all ages and exposure to sounds, different environments, and more… as well as his upcoming vet work.
Please do your research regarding cleft palates and the breed before enquiring. Wattle will need a family dedicated to making him the best dog he can be and one who can devote much needed time and attention to his needs. He has a hard and soft palate cleft, which to date has not caused any issues. He will need to remain on a specific diet (currently successfully eating Royal Canin Mini Puppy) for his life to reduce the risks of serious complications. He drinks fine out of a bowl and is learning to use puppy pads. Wattle is crate trained.
Please send a message via www.Facebook.com/coastalpetrescueau and let us know about your family and home.
Medical notes
Wattle is microchipped and vet checked. He has received his first vaccination. He will NOT be desexed prior to adoption and $250 will be refunded upon receiving his desexing certificate before he is six months of age. Whilst you can choose where you go for his surgery, we have selected a vet on the northern end of the Central Coast for his procedure and this is their public desexing fee. There are no discounts provided on any of his vet work or treatments. He will go to his new home under a strict desexing contract. His genetic defect makes him completely unsuitable for breeding and we do not support the breeding of more animals.
His adoption fee covers his:
Vet check(s)
First and second vaccinations
Microchip
Desexing surgery ($250 to be refunded once proof of desexing is supplied)
Up to date flea and worm treatment(s)
