About Rosey
💚💙 Available for Adoption "Rosey" 💚💙
Looking for love? Cuddles? Affection? Rosey is your gal!
“Hi! My name is Rosey and I love pats! I love to sit with my foster carers on the couch, outside on the couch, by their feet, on my dog bed, on their bed (if they let me) and anywhere as long as they are near me.
I love treats, walks, playing with my foster brother, hanging with my foster brother, pats, cuddles and did I mention pats? I can sit, shake and come when called. And I love cuddles, like I really, really love them!”
Rose is a beautiful, vibrant, highly intelligent young girl who is extremely affectionate. She weighs 22kg and is just below knee-height. She has met a variety of people of different age groups and has stolen all their hearts.
She has lived with a 10-year-old, met his friends and met smaller humans on walks. She is good with kids, though she can be bouncy with some slight mouthing as she is approximately 12 months and still has some excitable puppy behaviours.
She tends not to jump and I am not sure I have heard her bark at all! Rosey will let you know when she wants cuddles, affection and reassurance by pawing. She does show some signs of separation anxiety by crying when someone leaves the house. However, this may be starting to settle as she understands family routines.
The most remarkable thing I can tell you bout Rosey is that she is super eager to please! She responds excellently to firm no’s as she looks to please you and fit in with your boundaries.
Rosey is treat-orientated and, so, responds well to training. Rosey has met a variety of dogs and while she can sometimes be unsure and will give a small growl, we have trained her to respond to the word “gentle” when interacting with other dogs and would likely make a good off-leash dog park dog with a dog savvy owner. She has been following her foster brother’s lead and has become very good and generally polite when meeting and playing with other dogs.
Rosey has been living with a large, male, 4-year-old wolfhound cross and has loved his guidance, company and playing with him. She is toilet trained (though she did have a few wee accidents in the first few days).
Rosey’s ideal home would be with a couple, family, single person, who is home a lot to continue to provide her with the affection and re-assurance she needs to thrive. She needs a daily walk and to be included in activities. Due to her signs of some separation anxiety she should be allowed inside and not left alone for long periods.
A non-dominant male dog for company, who can continue to show her the ropes, would also suit Rosey. She is an absolutely precious dog with a lot of love to give.
