About Don
Don is ready to find his home where he can become a part of the working family as a sheep dog.
He is friendly and happy for pats and will be a great companion as well as worker with some time spent on him sharpening his skills.
He shows a good eye for sheep and is happy to hold them for you and move to the head when needed.
These photos are of Dons second look at sheep but was very keen to be in the thick of the work and not shy from the job at hand.
Obviously this is all instinct and would need someone willing to spend the time and have the knowledge to train and care for a working dog.
He shows potential as a good paddock dog and would go well in the yards once he is bigger and has more confidence so could be a great all rounder with the right owner.
Don will yard up when it is meal time with the command “ in your yard” and wait quietly for his meal to be placed before him after a quick pat.
He has traveled in a dog crate on the back of a ute but has not spent much time on a lead as he is fairly happy to tag along with you once a bond is formed. His recall is reasonable but still needs work especially when there is lots of other things to distract him as he is still only very young.
