About Athena
Frequently called “Lady Athena” who is a stunning black sable long coat German Shepherd.
This gentle lady has the sweetest of hearts and is very social with our other 11 German Shepherd dogs, Kelpies and even Chihuahua’s of both sexes.
Athena has been around chickens, sheep and horses who are well fenced separately.
At this stage Athens is untested with cats.
Athena is very well mannered, she will happily walk beside you on a loose lead. Even whilst on her twice daily free runs through the paddocks she comes back to you and is happy to walk by your side whilst receiving plenty of pats and praise.
Athena is playful with her other GSD and Kelpie besties; she also amuses herself chasing swallows. Athena loves to jump in the water troughs but is a little reluctant to swim in the river when she can’t touch the bottom.
Athena does like to come inside and thrives on attention, cuddles and praise, she truly tries her hardest to please you.
Being a long coated dog Athena would need an owner who is confident to maintain her long coat from tangles or take her to be groomed.
This beautiful regal lady is bonded with her bestie Titan also a registered bred German Shepherd.
Titan's profile can be seen here:

If you are interested in giving Athena and her mate Titan a new home, please select the "Enquire about Athena", and we will send you our application form.
Medical notes
Athena is in excellent health. She has been desexed and is fully immunised. Is on heart worm prevention and has been flea treated and wormed.
There are terrific benefits in having a bonded pair: These besties keep each other company and help ease separation anxiety. They come with a natural support system providing a constant source of physical comfort to one another. They don’t cost that more to feed.
They are content to sleep together, feed together and play with each other all when the family may not be there. They are less inclined to get into mischief and form negative behaviours etc.
You’ve helped saved 2 lives not 1. The best reason is with Athena and Titan you will get double the unconditional love and loyalty.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
