About Diesel
Diesel, is a sweet old boy looking for the perfect place to spend his retierment. He's truely a big softy and deserves a home where he will receive plenty of love and cuddles. He's very quiet and isn't bothered by the other dogs at the shelter. Diesel is quite happy spending his time resting and relaxing, but also enjoys getting outside and going on a walk. Come and meet him, his adorable face is sure to bring a smile!
Was certainly a housetrained dog. Knows where everything is, especially the kitchen and knows that outside is a place to go to the toilet. Loves sitting on the couch.
Enjoys following you around and going along to do whatever you want to do but is perfectly content sleeping and resting, and watching TV with you.
Doesn't really pull when walking, would rather walk slowly alongside you but might stretch to go sniff something.
Gets along with dogs. Respectful of other dogs as well. Doesn't go after their food or show signs of aggression or jealousy. Hasn't show any interest in playing with any toys.
Doesn't respond to voice commands or have much recall as he doesn't seem to have much hearing but he's great at body language and hand signals. Can point for him to go outside or tap on something for him to get up. Stops quietly and sits if you need him to.
Peacefully affectionate, seeks quiet pats but is not a dog who will jump up on you or lick your face off. Your company is plenty for him and he loves it.
Not fussed about being left alone outside or left with dogs outside. Might put his paw on the door if he can tell you're inside but happy to go sniff around the garden and curl up in the sun to sleep.
Doesn't make a sound. I haven't even heard him bark, growl or whine and doesn't seem to snore like an old dog either.
We think he'd be a perfect companion for somebody quiet like a semi-retired single person, single senior or couple. I think he'd be great for young families or a young person too but he's well past the 'excitement' stage of a young dog or puppy but still has plenty of life in him and enjoys moving about. He is a perfect dog for someone wanting to enjoy their golden years together with a furry friend.
Healthy appetite, hasn't shown any aversion or dislikes to any food whether it's kibble or raw and enjoys soft bones and fish skins.
Despite his age and larger size, he's got plenty of life in him and is as gentle as a little lamb. All PAWS Darwin animals come with de-sexing, up to date vaccinations and worming plus micro-chipping. In addition to this all dogs are eligible for 4 free socialisation or puppy classes. For more information or to meet the animal please complete the meet & greet form on our website http://pawsdarwin.org.au/forms/
