About Boof
Third Time Lucky for Boof ?
Yes Ladies and Gentleman, everyone’s favourite Mr Boofhead is back in care and once again looking for his forever after.
Boof has been on such a journey since he was saved from Death row a whole year ago.
It is such a shame that he is still here and still hasn’t found his family.
12 months - Two adoptions – two carers and a whole heap of dedicated training – he really deserves his happy ending.
Let’s be clear Boof is not a bad dog – he is actually a really great dog.
He is a couch potato sort of guy – down to earth and easy going.
Boof isn’t interested in adventures, hikes, and exciting car rides.
He loves his home, his yard, and his people.
He is great with kids- but due to his size and sometimes enthusiasm to show affection – older kids are better for him.
You will never feel unloved or alone with this big snuggle bug in your life.
Boof is happy to while his time away whilst you are out and about doing your exciting adventure stuff – he has no separation anxiety and is really well behaved when left alone.
Boof is however prone to developing a “dad bod” as he is 4 years old and likes his naps, dinner and tv time – so a trot around the block morning and night are needed to keep him looking his handsome best.
His trainer thinks he has a definite Aussie Shepherd in him – he has a double coat, a bob tail, his mannerisms and a quirky little smile.
HIs favourite things in life are chewing on bones, snoozes, getting head scratches and lots of cuddles !
You can always tell when Boof is super happy as he curls his top lip back and gives you the cutest smile.
So, what is the “problem” with Boof ?
1. Cats – doesn’t like them – in one home he chased a cat through a neighbours yard causing mayhem in the neighbourhood.
Said cat recovered – Boof has shown no interest in cats on his walks since being back with his carer.
Maybe he didn’t like the taste of said cat – or maybe it was all too much energy for him to repeat.
Regardless – no cats in his forever home please.
2. Dogs – doesn’t like them
Boof arrived from the pound and became quite reactive to other dogs.
We have no idea why this started as all the videos from the pound showed him either oblivious to barking dogs or totally uninterested.
However, he developed a dislike of other dogs so spent time in rehab working on this – he is now non-reactive to dogs on walks and pays little or no attention to them.
His forever home does need to be aware and alert though – we do recommend walking him at quiet times of the morning / evening just for peace of mind.
3. Walking – Boof is strong on his lead.
He has been well trained to walk beautifully on his halti.
Boof however will need a strong and confident walker – he is not a dog for little children to walk.
4. Cars – Boof does not travel well in the car – another reason to stay at home please.
If you would like to meet Boof and see for yourself how special he is, please send us a detailed message telling us all about yourself and the amazing life he would share with you.
He is located at Stafford and his adoption fee is $495.
Boof is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and is up to date with his flea and worm treatments.
