About Lexi
LEXI IS CURRENTLY AWAITING THE OUTCOME OF HER MEET AND GREET.
PLEASE NOTE:- Applications for Lexi will close midnight Sunday 14th August,2022
Lexi is the best combination of both her breeds. She has the Kelpie smarts and the Staffy need to be with her person. She has a butt that doesn't stop wiggling and is happiest when being part of family life.
She came to us in sad circumstances having just weaned a litter of pups and with very little training. Since she has been in care, she has learned to sit patiently (almost) for her meals, she has found that treats are a very good thing and being as smart as she is, picks up new commands fairly quickly. She is getting better on leash but will need ongoing training.
Lexi is wonderful around other dogs and is currently living with 3 other large & medium breeds at her foster mums. She has NOT been tested on cats. She gets on well with every human she has met so far, even though she can be a little "jumpy" at times, but is pulled out of that behaviour by a gruff 'no"....
She loves playing with her doggy friends, sometimes a little roughly but never with any malice. She is a very good helper with the gardening, but does tend to try and clean your ears and face at the same time.
Lexi absolutely loves going in the car and is quite happy to jump in even if not invited. She travels well and enjoys going on adventures to anywhere, even the vet.
She is very easy to give any form of medication to and sees it as a treat for her, which makes worming etc. very stressfree.
She is also very good with fences, having shown no interest in either jumping over, or digging under. She has reasonable recall, but will get distracted if in a new area with new smells, sights and sounds.
She has been an outside dog since being in care, but learning to be an inside dog would be her idea of heaven. That would get her closer to her "hooman"
Lexi is mostly a very quiet dog who barks rarely, but has learned to "talk" when you have a conversation with her.
