About Syrup
This is a private rehoming for someone who has spent $15,000 raising the pups. Adoption fee reflects that.
Syrup is from a litter of 5 pups whose mother wanted to eat them just after they were born. Consequently all 5 pups were removed from her and hand feeding by a dedicated carer started. Sadly not all the pups survived, so that took an emotional toll on the carer who was working around the clock to provide 2nd hourly feeds initially eventually getting feeds out to 4 hourly. Maple has a female sibling and a male, who has a home. They are now eating solid foods and growing at a rapid weight thanks to the dedicate care of a friend of mine.
Syrup is a very happy go lucky, true to breed Cocker Spaniel pup. She loves life, playing with her siblings and humans. Cockers are referred to as "merry" dogs and she is proving that to be true. Time is spent inside and outside, but toilet training is a work in progress, like it is with all pups!
Cocker Spaniels will require regular grooming, with particular attention to their ears and the area between her teeth and gums to ensure food has not lodge there. The whiskers between their toes needs to be kept trimmed as well. Boundary setting is a very important part of teaching the pup how to be a fantastic canine citizen. Puppy class for socialisation and perhaps training classes as well. They need regular exercise, but care needs to be taken while they are young not to allow them to run around like a supreme athlete as their joints can become damaged until the growth plates have sealed over.
This wonderful happy breed was originally used as a gun dog to flush out, pick up and carry animals back to their owner. Working lines still exist, but Maple is from show lines, so not really suitable for much else but to love enjoy and play with.
Given the amount of time, money, hard work and emotions that has gone into raising these beautiful pups for their owner, the usual adoption fees do not apply.
Medical notes
All vaccinations are up to date and the pups have been wormed every 2 weeks since they were 2 weeks old. Second and third vaccinations will be required to give them the best possible chance of avoiding Kennel Cough and Parvo virus. Parvo has the potential to kill young pups and adult dogs.
Whilst she is far too young to desex, there will be a desexing contract in place at point of sale. A follow up will be done and a desexing certificate needs to be provided before a Change of Owner from is completed and ownership transferred.
Adoption details
To enquire about a dog in foster care please email the foster carer in the first instance (using the contact details listed with the dog's description).
The foster carer needs to know about you, your family, and any other pets, about your lifestyle and accommodation, and about the type of dog you want, so that they can help work out if the dog you have selected is right for you.
For dogs, foster carers will also carry out a 'home check' where we look at fencing and shelter for the dog to make sure they are adequate, and advise on anything that needs to be done to make sure your dog will be safe and comfortable.
All enquiries need to be sent to Brenda at rescuerambles92@gmail.com
