About Birdie
Birdie is a beautiful well natured 11 month old puppy and just wants to be around her humans, Birdie would suit anyone who spends time at home, or has a larger sized dog Birdie is great around kids, she loves to play ball with them or just chill and watch tv
Birdie sleeps inside on her bed and normally makes her way to the bedroom door to wait for her humans.
Birdie is fully toilet trained and she will hold it in overnight. She does know how to use a doggy door if you have one installed
Birdie loves a cuddle, will wait for you to invite her up on the lounge or bed if allowed. if not invited she will curl up in a ball and will sleep happily at your feet or near you just hoping for a pat.
Birdie knows how to wait, sit, lay, and is close to mastering the paw for a shake.
Birdie is fantastic in the car usually just curls up and goes to sleep.
Birdie is very well natured and very loving. She is fantastic with kids. She is currently being trained not to jump up but that was a habit taught to her by her previous owners 5 yr old kids
Birdie will try and act all tough when meeting other dog friends, She will bark and maybe rush at them. This may be misconstrued as aggressive but once initial contact is made and a few minutes of sniffing each other out the terry tough guy hat comes off and she is the the best of friends. We think maybe in her younger puppy years she may have had a bad experience with a dog. When barking at another dog you can even go up to her and put your hand over her mouth so that is proof she is not zoned out in any aggressive way.
She is currently being fostered with 3 other dogs, has sleepover’s with my 2 dogs and has been with a puppy and mini dashy with no problems at all
Birdie is a victim of a DV order and her family had to leave fast, her family just had to go and weren’t allowed to take her with them so she is heart broken as she doesn’t know why her loving family left her.
Birdie has been residing at a foster house and after a skittish first day built up the confidence to stiff a little further and slowly get accustomed to her new home.
She does not like to be left alone for long periods of time this is the only time you will see her anxiety and she may dig a small hole or chew and bark. How ever if she has a doggy friend she can wait with she’s fine and just chills with her doggy friend
Birdie with her gentle loving nature would be a great companion animal as she is very good with commands. If you tell her shes not allowed on certain furniture she quickly learns. She will happily lay on her bed especially if it is close to you.
She would also live to be part of a family but if you went out quite regularly she would definitely need the company of a doggy friend. She would be better suited to a strong minded dog as she can be quite submissive and i feel that would work better for birdie as she may bowl over a small dog not knowing her puppy size. If it’s love you want a friend for your kids or a companion for your dog Birdie is definitely your girl.
