About Ace
Hi, I’m Ace! I’m named after Batman’s dog because I am the ultimate strong-dog and perfect sidekick to all super-dog-adopting-hero’s!
I didn’t have the best start in life and about 6 months ago a wonderful family took me in and showed me what a life full of love is really about. It’s the best!
I am a 5 year old Amstaff and have never been trained but since being with my family, I have learned to sit, drop, wait for my food and am fully house trained. I’m working hard on my recall, “bed” and “stay”, but there are just so many exciting things happening and I hate missing out! Treats help a lot though because I absolutely love food! I love other dogs and get on with all of them, big or small… but if I’m going to have a fur-sibling, they will need to be able to handle my strength and energy. I get really excited when visitors come over so you’ll need to help me learn how to control myself.
My family call me the “freight train” because I can pull anything and I would run though a brick wall without even blinking! They think I could easily pull a car! My forever family will need to be very confident and strong when walking me. I could definitely use some more training on not pulling. I love going for walks, but 30 mins is all I need. After that I’d much rather lay down on someones cool grass and rest, even if I’m not back home yet. For a big strong dog I’m actually quite lazy and as long as I get my walk each day, I’ll spend the rest of my time snoozing on my bed or following you around wondering if you’re going to feed me soon?! I don’t need a big backyard, but I do need strong secure fences!
I have so many great qualities. I don’t bark (unless I hear a scary noise), don’t dig, don’t chew, don’t jump fences, sleep on my bed all night and I’m happy to stay home while you work a few days a week, as long as I can go inside and outside and have a nice big bone to keep me entertained. I am terrified of storms and loud wind, but I’ll be ok as long as you’re with me. I hate kennels, they are scary. Inside is my happy place.
I absolutely love going on adventures with my family and have been to the the beach and camping with them, but these things are still very overwhelming and new to me, so I need you to help me stay calm, especially in the car and when around other dogs and kids.
I do suffer from skin allergies, but I just take a special tablet once a day and have a shower (with my human of course!) twice a week using my special wash, and that seems to keep everything under control.
My rescue family love me so much and wish I could stay with them, but I’m just too strong and boisterous for young kids and this is why I would be most happy living with a family who has big teenage/adult kids who are very dog savvy and understand my breed.
I am a beautiful boy with so many great qualities and any suitable family would be lucky to have me.
Medical notes
Chase is allergic to the grass and is medicated for it.
