About Bentley
Bentley is a nine year old German Shepherd that was found as a stray and never collected from the local shelter.
WARNING…….this dog is fabulous both our volunteers wanted to take him home.
Bentley is a lovely mature gentleman. With lots of life left in him, he is a very sweet natured boy and not reactive with other dogs. He isn't a big dog but seems a little independent but very loving and would welcome a loving home with quiet walks.
He was a bit growly at first and growled at some staff, and also growls when his mouth and rump are touched but he is getting a lot better and enjoyed his time in the yard with our volunteers.
He loves his food.
Bentley is social with other dogs, but we think he should be an only dog, and he hasn't been tested with cats or pocket pets.
Intelligence, loyalty, love and companionship is what Bentley will give in abundance when he connects and builds that trust with her new owner.
So please consider Bentley if you can provide him with inclusion in the home as a family member. Daily walk and playtime in your yard where he has grass to toilet and shade to lay about and roll on the sweet smell of lawn. No unit or apartment owners for this boy please.
If you understand the nature of the German Shepherd, have recently owned this breed, and are looking for a companion dog then please consider Bentley.
If you think you can give me a new home please contact us by selecting "Enquire about Bentley".
Medical notes
Bentley is microchipped and will be vaccinated and desexed before going to his new home.
He arrived at the pound in very poor physical condition and very thin and had dermatitis, he is improving, but that will be checked by our vets before he goes to his new home.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
