About Peppercorn
Hello, I have the biggest cheeks in the feline kingdom! I came into Cat Haven with an eye missing but now I am all fixed up by the vets to go to my forever home! I am a pretty special boy who need extra TLC, will you be my new best friend?
I may not win a beauty contest, but a cuddle contest, that I'd win paws down! My name is Peppercorn. I spent nine years living on the streets and in all that time I would stare longingly at the house-cats I saw through windows. I LOVE being a housecoat in my foster home, and now I'm looking for my permanent home. I would love a place with someone who is home and cuddled on the couch a lot, or with a big family who will give me lots of attention. My favourite thing is a group hug; when my people sit on the couch I stretch out so that I can sit on both laps at once. Group hugs are the best hugs, right? If my people do any hugging or kissing I'm sure to put my face in there as well. I also adore getting brushed, I go little crazy with it, so please brush me every day, also to prevent these pesky hairballs I sometimes get. I'm keen on my food too, and have to watch my weight a bit now that I get regular meals. Honestly house-cat life is the best.
I'm not scared by anything (after everything I've lived through) but I can be grumpy and give a serious scratch if you pat me on a spot I don't like, dare to stop brushing me, or ignore me. As a result, I would probably be better in a home with older children or adults. Since I'm FIV+ I should be indoors and your only cat. I beat up dogs, so if you like your dog, I'm probably not the one for you. But don't worry, most of the time, I am the most sweet and loving cat you will find.
I have a lot of cute and funny characteristics. I sometimes lie on my back, especially when it's hot, and am very clumsy and goofy, though I'm not sure I like being laughed at. I have a big loud purr and an equally loud snore! I snore away in my comfy cat bed all day. I come when called (usually there's a pat to be had), and only scratch my scratching post.
Like your favourite teddy bear, I am a bit worse for wear and need a home that will take good care of me! I have some arthritis in my hips, so am not great at walking upstairs, and instead of jumping onto the couch or bed, I pull myself up with my super strong front paws. I also have sensitive skin and a sensitive tummy, so you may need to try a few different foods to make sure I don't vomit or lose too much fur. At the moment I/D digestive care biscuits are working well for me. My missing eye on the other hand, doesn't bother me at all. So if you are after a real character, a sweet, funny snuggle bug, come and meet me in my foster home in Beaconsfield.
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
