About Poppy
“Hi, my name is Poppy, but I prefer “Miss Poppy”, as I am quite the precious girl. I was found fending for myself as a young kitten. I was so unwell when the Mad Catters crew found me that I could barely breathe and needed lots of TLC to nurse me back to health. I am all better now, but the doc told me I have this “chronic snuffle”, which you can hear when I get a little stressed. I lived alongside a lot of other cats and am quite the cat socialite. I’m currently staying with Bow Tie in foster care (I’ve been told he could be my dad, and we are strikingly similar!), he is teaching me to come out of my shell and that humans aren’t so bad. I love to have a little safe space, and will come out for treats, and am also getting used to pats and strokes from human hands. I’ve seen the big resident dog through the window, and he doesn’t scare me. I may not mind dogs with the right introduction, though I haven’t met any face to face yet!
If you have a quite little abode for me to stay, I would love to find a forever home. A quiet, stress free retreat would be great, to help stop my snuffles flaring up. Dad would love to come to, we make quite the bonded pair, but I’m old enough to move out on my own and find my own family too.”
Poppy can be quite timid when faced with new experiences and environments. Poppy is easily startled by loud noises and busy homes. For this reason, Poppy requires a child free home so she can live a comfortable life. We expect a smooth transition moving to a home with calm dogs who will give Poppy space to settle, and we are happy to provide support during this time. As she is highly cat social and comes from a colony of homeless cats and has never lived a life without a feline companion, she will require a home with at least one other cat for comfort and friendship.

Medical notes
Medical Note: Poppy was exposed to a widespread disease commonly known as Cat Flu (Feline Herpes Virus). Poppy showed mild signs of illness, was treated, and recovered well. This virus is a common respiratory disease in cats and varies in severity. The virus usually attacks the respiratory tract (nasal passages and lungs), eyes, or both. Signs of illness may or may not develop again over time and veterinary treatment might be required. As usual, regular vaccinations are important to protect Poppy and other cats within the same living space should be up to date with vaccination.
